| The history of Saint Cyr begins back in prehistory, whose many remnants are shown in the 'Musée de Tauroentum'. A beautiful landscape with vineyards and olive-trees stretches towards the interior of the country and offers the opportunity for pleasant walks and excursions under the sun. |
|
The village includes the smaller villages of Les Lecques and La Madrague, just next to the sea and facing the bay of La Ciotat. The beach of Les Lecques, compared by Lamartine to the bay of Naples, is 2 km long which is unique in the region, and very appreciated by those who come here on vacation.
The quality of the seawater has been awarded for the ninth consecutive year the European label "Pavillon Bleu".

At its origins, La Madrague was a fishing harbour with the fishing carried out by means of a net called 'Madrague'.
The 'Sentier du Littoral', a path along to the coast, is unusual here. It leads along the seashore to Bandol and allows to admire the sea ground and the rock coast. You will also find the Golf de la Frégate (18 holes and 9 training holes) whose golf course offers a splendid view on the island of Embiez.
