The port of Cassis

Visitors can stroll along the quays, stopping to sample local specialties such as bouillabaisse, accompanied by a glass of white wine produced in the surrounding vineyards.

Cassis also boasts a pretty historic town center with a Provencal soul. Don’t forget to visit the market in the center of town on Wednesdays and Fridays. Here you’ll find regional specialities that the producers will be delighted to share with you. Between refined cuisine and local produce, the choice will be difficult.

The many restaurants nestling in the port of Cassis will delight your taste buds, while you admire the magnificent sunset. This picturesque village is bordered by pretty beaches, the Mediterranean Sea and its beautiful turquoise waters. One of these beaches, not to be missed, is the Plage Grande Mer. With the “Calanc’O Kayak Paddle Club” located on the port of Cassis, you can choose your kayak or paddle excursion.

Various itineraries are available from Cassis, supervised by a professional who will share with you his knowledge of the region and its flora and fauna. “The Cassis Calanques Diving Center, easily accessible from the port of Cassis, offers a wide choice of packages to suit your level of experience: first dives, introductory dives and supervised self-guided dives. You’ll be able to discover the exceptional seabed of the calanques with complete peace of mind.

Numerous boat excursions from Cassis to the calanques are also available. You’ll have the chance to swim in the most beautiful corners of the Calanques National Park.

The Cassis nautical base offers a wide range of activities for children aged 5 and over and adults. Its sailing school offers activities for learning the basics of sailing, as well as advanced courses.

Cassis and its vineyards

The vineyards of Cassis, one of the first appellations d’origine contrôlée, stretch exclusively across the commune, protected by the majestic cliffs of Cap Canaille. Determined winegrowers preserve this heritage over 210 hectares, with a significant economic and landscape impact. Cassis wines, emblems of the appellation, are prized for their rarity and quality. Visit the calanques on foot or by boat

Discover the calanques of Cassis, on foot or by boat. This is the real treasure of this town. Several boat tours are available from the port of Cassis to discover the calanques national park and its extraordinary landscapes. Different calanques tours are available all year round: visit 3 – 5 – 8 or 9 calanques, as you wish. Tours depart from the port of Cassis and last between 1 and 2 hours and 20 minutes. The Calanque de Sormiou with its magnificent white sandy beach, the Calanque de Morgiou with its charming unspoilt village and many more are sure to delight.

An exceptional natural site, you can also visit the calanques on foot. Numerous hiking trails are available for intermediate to expert hikers. Striding along the paths is an excellent way to visit the Calanques National Park, and an opportunity to discover less-frequented coves. The calanque of Port Miou in the commune of Cassis, just 10 minutes away by car, is also the starting point for many hikes.
