TOURISM IN CIOTAT

At 20 minutes from Marseille and Toulon in the Bouches du Rhone, La Ciotat is a seaside resort that has remained authentic. The city is highlighted to the west by creeks, unique coves, the highest cliffs in Europe (394m), and an island, L’Île Verte, a few fathoms from the coast. To the east, it offers more than 6 km of sandy beaches.

You will be seduced by its picturesque old fishing port, its beautiful 17th century houses, the road of the crests joining Cassis, the Parc du Mugel, where you will discover a varied and abundant vegetation as well as a breathtaking view of the city, the shipyards and the Gulf Islands. La Ciotat station is a pretty little station like there are many others in the PACA with the only difference that it was the scene of a significant event in the history of cinema. It was in 1895 that the Lumières brothers took their first pictures there: the arrival of a train at the station of La Ciotat
